BIO

Marilyn Bass is a Chicago-born, Los Angeles–based actor with a strong foundation in both theatre and on-camera work. She began performing at a young age—often starring in her brother’s homemade horror films (usually as the first to die, covered in ketchup)—before discovering her love for the stage at nine.

She trained extensively in Chicago, including as a resident company member at Piven Theatre Workshop and Actors Training Center. Her theatre work includes performances with Steppenwolf Theatre Company and Profiles Theatre, and most recently starring in Gruesome Playground Injuries at Playhouse West in Los Angeles. The production was extended twice due to sold-out shows and rave reviews, with one reviewer noting “Bass not only holds your attention with her heart-rendering performance, but brings you into the space and demands you feel what Kayleen is feeling.”

On camera, Marilyn has appeared as a guest star on Chicago P.D. and in co-starring roles on Chicago Fire and The Young and the Restless, in addition to multiple award-winning independent films, which can be viewed on her IMDb: IMDB/MarilynBass

After overcoming a serious dog attack a few years ago, Marilyn returned to the business stronger than ever—with a renewed resilience and emotional depth that she brings to her work. She is drawn to complex, character-driven stories and continues to pursue roles that challenge and transform her.
